Our mission at Mama & Bird Skincare is to offer our customer thoughtful, premium skincare, created with nourishing blends of naturally derived ingredients. We invest significant time into thoroughly researching the most up-to-date ingredient advancements to create our product formulations, partnering with a reputable Australian commercial skincare manufacture, highly experienced and knowledgeable in pregnancy and infant product formulation and ingredient safety.

We work to combine the gentlest combinations of natural, naturally derived and Ecocert / Cosmos approved ingredients to bring you quality and effective products. Most importantly, all our products are manufactured too stringent national safety guidelines and regulations.

WHAT OUR PRODUCT DO INCLUDE:

Mama & Bird skincare invest significant resources into selecting the highest quality pregnancy and infant safe plant and vegetable oils and extracts to include in our products.

No bees wax to be found in our product formulations! We choose to use only plant based vegan waxes when creating our product ranges.

Our products are enriched with beautiful vegan, plant based butters that provide many benefits to the skin.

Our manufacturing partner works with some of the worlds most progressive ingredient suppliers, to source the most advanced patented botanical skincare ingredients to include in our product formulations.

Additional to the more commonly recognised ingredient categories above, our products are formulated with other naturally-derived ingredients such as plant derived humectants, emulsifiers, emulsion stabilisers and mild plant-derived cleansers.

Where necessary for the product safety and integrity, we include either a NATRUE Approved preservative, or an ECOCERT & COSMOS approved preservative (approved for use in natural skincare).

ECOCERT is an organic certification organization, founded in France in 1991. It is based in Europe but conducts inspections in over 80 countries, making it one of the largest organic certification organizations in the world. Their basic principle is 'to ensure an environmentally friendly cosmetic product'.  They have two standards; Ecocert Natural and Ecocert Organic.

The COSMOS-standard defines the criteria that companies must meet to ensure consumers that their products are genuine organic or natural cosmetics produced to the highest feasible sustainability practices.

NATRUE is a certification scheme created by the International Natural and Organic Cosmetics Association to regulate and protect natural skin care products.

Our products do not contain any ingredients derived from animal or animal bi-products. This includes Beeswax and Honey. 

Mama & Bird® Skincare does not condone or conduct animal testing with regards to its products and ingredients. We are proudly Safe Cosmetics Australia Cruelty Free Certified.

WHAT WE DON'T INCLUDE: 

A group of chemicals widely used as artificial preservatives in cosmetic and body care products. Known todisrupt the normal function of hormone systems.

Sodium lauryl sulfate and Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate (aka SLS|SLES) are foaming agents commonly used in personal care products such as shampoos. Highly irritating effects on the skin and eyes.

A group of chemicals used to increase the longevity of cosmetics.

Often used in cosmetics and skincare, can cause irritation.

We choose only plant based cleansers for our formulations.

Our product aromas are created using natural essential oils, selected for their suitability to pregnancy and or infant care.

None to be found in our products.

Polyethylene glycols (PEG) and polypropylene glycols (PPG) are humectants (which help retain or preserve moisture) or emulsifiers that can be found in many cosmetic products. They are a by-product of petroleum production.
