The Mama & Bird® Skincare range is created with naturally derived ingredients including; plant oils and extracts, plant vegetable and fruit derived ingredients, plant based vegan waxes and plant-based butters. 

Our products are free from petrochemicals, parabens, sulphates (SLS), phthalates, synthetic colours, fragrances cleansers and detergents, PEGs & PPGs and animal ingredients and bi-products.

Where necessary for the product safety and integrity, we include either a NATURE Approved preservative, or an ECOCERT & COSMOS approved preservative (approved for use in natural skincare).

Yes. Our Mum & Baby ranges are vegan and do not contain any ingredients derived from animal or animal bi-products.

Absolutely not. Mama & Bird® Skincare does not condone or conduct animal testing with regards to its products and ingredients. We are proudly Safe Cosmetics Australia Cruelty Free Certified.

The Toxic-Free Campaign aims to raise chemical awareness & provide manufacturers with a higher standard of manufacturing cosmetics than current law provides & that consumers demand. 

As part of this certification brands pledge to exclude & restrict potentially toxic chemicals of concern published on Safe Cosmetics Australia Hot List. 

Where a formulation is 100% compliant with the Safe Cosmetics Australia Toxic-Free Hotlist, the product can be endorsed with the Australian Certified Toxic-Free trademark.

Products that carry the Made Safe® trademark are committed to reducing toxicity.  The Made Safe® campaign addresses an estimated 85,000 chemicals available world wide 40,000 of these chemicals are permitted for use in Australia & over 10,000 are specifically used by the beauty industry. 

Our Belly Butter and Mama Balm contain two ingredients that may be derived from sustainable palm oil. The suppliers of these ingredients certify that their palm oil is derived from sustainable sources only and no animal habitats are harmed in the harvesting process.

Our products are made right here in Australia. We have partnered with a leading Australian Skincare manufacture with over 30 years experience in premium skincare formulation.

Extensive research and consideration were taken when choosing a suitable manufacturer that aligned with our brand vision, needs and values. In particular we were committed to working with a partner who was highly experienced in natural skincare formulation, with particular knowledge of pregnancy and infant skincare. 

Whilst every effort is taken on our part to create products that are natural, gentle and irritant free, each persons skin is different and unique, with its own sensitivity tolerances.  For this reason we recommend doing a small sensitive patch test before you use any new skincare product (our brand or any other brand). 

To perform an skincare patch test, simply apply a small amount of the product to a small area of skin that is that's easily covered—such as the your inside elbow. Ensure there are no other products on the skin at the time of application. Apply the products daily for a 2 day period to assess if you have a reaction.
